Visit of the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University, Purwokerto to Herbal Indo Utama and Potential Collaboration
The Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University, Purwokerto visited Herbal Indo Utama on Monday ( 30/9/2024) Yesterday. Seven personnel from Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto, including the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs and Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan, as well as several other staff made a visit in the context of industrial studies and discussions to discuss potential collaboration between Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto and Herbal Indo Utama.
Arrive at o'clock 08.00 in Japanese facilities, The event opened with welcoming sentences from both parties. During the visit, guests were invited to tour various industrial facilities and facilities at Herbal Indo Utama, starting from the herbal garden, nursery house, simplicia drying area, packaging printing, laboratory, to production facilities. Guests have the opportunity to see how herbs are grown, harvested, produced, tested, until it is packaged into a finished product.
Mr Drs. Ikhsan Mujahid, M.Si. as Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs and Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto expressed his appreciation for the industry that is already running at Herbal Indo Utama, “We see that the process from upstream to downstream has been well planned and programmed. Herbal Indo Utama has done many things, (like) herbal garden, herbal house, and the process of becoming herbal medicine is carried out very carefully, always meet the criteria standardized nationally and internationally through POM, MUI, and this is amazing.”
The visit agenda is not only limited to industrial studies. More on that, Purwokerto Muhammadiyah University and Herbal Indo Utama jointly see the potential for wider collaboration between the two parties. As two capable institutions, Herbal Indo Utama and the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University, Purwokerto, have the opportunity to collaborate in developing herbal gardens and medicinal plants at Muhammadiyah University, Purwokerto.
Through discussion sessions, both parties exchange ideas and provide input. This visit is a good first step, further, Mr Drs. Ikhsan Mujahid, M.Si. expressed his hope that this potential collaboration can continue, “UMP thanks you, Hopefully it can be followed up with an MOU and MOA, because we at UMP have very adequate laboratory facilities and will be able to work together with Herbal Indo Utama to uncover many herbal plants whose benefits have not been studied in depth.”
“During our visit, we get hospitality which is very good, friends greeted us friendly, provide very useful knowledge, not stingy with information at all, and very willing to help. So, we were very impressed and helped when we did sharing with SHARKS,” said Dr. Mustika Ratnaningsih Purbowati when giving her impressions during a visit to Herbal Indo Utama. Alhamdulillah, the event went well and closed at 15.00 with service.
The visit of the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto to Herbal Indo Utama was considered very beneficial for both parties. In accordance with our vision and mission, Herbal Indo Utama is of course very open to all forms of collaboration in terms of developing superior herbal products, aman, and quality as a form of service to the community. Hopefully this activity can produce new innovations and benefits.
